Judicial Election Ads

It's election season. Most people are focusing on the Congressional races, governors' races, state constitutional amendments, and the like. Call me crazy, but I love a good judicial election. These elections are run a little differently than other elections. Judges can't really make promises to the voters. They can't say how they will rule on a case or line of cases in advance. That leaves judicial candidates with two options: talk about general ideas like "justice" and "fairness" and the like or rip the hell out of your opponent.

Judicial election ads get pretty interesting. Here are two ads from the race for the Georgia State Supreme Court. The candidates are Liberal Rapist Champion and Non-Trial Lawyer Who Threatened to Kill His Sister. Enjoy.

Now that's entertainment.
