Back to School

Today was my first day of the new semester. I had mixed feelings coming back to ol' Sensenbrenner Hall today. The trip down to school on that first morning back is always a blend of emotions. I'm excited about my new classes, but I always seem to feel that way at the beginning of the semester. I really, really missed my bed. I missed my couch too. It wasn't a bad day though. I had two classes and a very long break between them. It's nice to have that much leeway for time, in case I slack off and need to get some reading done before a class. I have time for a leisurely lunch too.

The construction kind of sucks. It's nice to have Wisconsin Ave almost completely empty. It's not so nice to have Wells St packed with traffic though. The undergrads aren't back yet (slackers), so the campus was very empty. I'm going to enjoy these days while I can. Tomorrow is going to be a long day; I have to be on campus for 12 hours. Ouch. My Tuesdays/Thursdays were almost this bad last semester too, so I'm used to it. I get more done at school than I would at home anyway.

Both of my classes today were great. I have high hopes for the three I have tomorrow. I have nine more pages of reading to finish before tomorrow morning, so I better get to it. I hate to admit it, but it's kind of nice to be back.

Best of luck with school! I'm a second year business major at Lakeland, and I feel like there aren't enough hours in a day. I can't imagine being a postgrad law student. I'm having enough trouble getting through all my reading for my basic business law course alone.

Good luck to you too. The key is knowing when to say "You know what? I'm not going to have a social life for the next two weeks." It sucks, but sometimes it's the only way to do it all.

Wait.. Did you say Wisconsin Ave and empty in the same sentence???

-A

Yeah, the bridge over the freeway near 11th (right by the law school) is gone. All the traffic is being detoured to Wells and the new bridge there. We are now free to dart across Wisconsin Ave.
