Sheehan Acts Up; Rex "A Good Boy"

Activist Cindy Sheehan was arrested in the House gallery before last night's State of the Union address.

Rex, the bomb sniffing German Shepherd, was well behaved for the duration of the speech.

I think that the Capitol police have already said that they made a mistake and apologized for arresting her.

They both deserve to be thrown out of the House chamber, simply for the fact that they were wearing t-shirts. This is the State of the Union address, not a little league game. Dress appropriately, slobs.

Aren't there, for this gathering, rules that prohibit wearing clothing that makes a political statement?

I'm not exactly sure, but I think so. Personally, I'm concerned with the overall shabbiness of dress for events like this.

I remember seeing people in line for the viewing of Reagan's casket at the Capitol. Many of the people were dressed like slobs, wearing shorts, tank tops, and t-shirts. This isn't a picnic. It's an event to honor the death of a former US president. Put on some slacks and a shirt with a collar, you barbarians.
